Horary students usually learn how planets work with the help of William Lilly's long list of planetary associations. At first, these associations seem to be infinite. Then the students realise they actually are.
We can define every person, animal, plant or thing by the mix of planets and signs.
I recently watched Twilight, a teen zombie moving, with my daughter and my mind immediately delineated the protagonist, Edward Cullen.
Dead, pale and cold: Saturn.
Bloodsucker: Mars’ sign with Saturnian influence: Capricorn.
Night creature= nocturnal sign, which means, Capricorn matches.
Dry, bloodless bodies: earth sign.
Mars in Capricorn it is.
Ok, this was for fun. But thinking in astrological association-mood is more than this. We start seeing patterns everywhere in nature.
Here is an example, very basic and down to earth. The weather has been pretty cold and very wet. My garden is literally invaded by snails. Those little monsters are the terminators of my little orchard. I consider their enormous appetite a declaration of war! Besides, I don't recall ever having seen so many snails in garden at all.
These slimy zucchini eaters carry a house on their shoulders: weight is shown by Saturn. They move slowly: Saturn is a slow motion specialist. They prefer cold to hot: Saturn rules cold. They cannot be in the Sun and in the heat: Saturn is the antagonist to the Sun. They like shadow: Chronos, again. If in danger, they hide in their house: Saturn.
However, when their house is damaged, the sharp pieces will cut the snail and it will die. This is actually pretty horrible, and definitely a Martian element.
The slimy property points to a water sign. Mars is the triplicity ruler of the water signs, so this matches.
Pisces seems the most likely fit among the three water signs because the snail enters and exits its house and moves by muscle retraction, like pushing and pulling, which seems best described by the Pisces glyph. This adds a Jupitarian element, too, since Jupiter is the ruler of Pisces. Here is the reason of the voracity of those little beasts.
Now, if we look at the Aries Ingress chart, my place in Italy had the Saturn Mars conjunction very close to the IC, which represents soil and fields. Even my mini garden.
From Ingress chart (or eclipses, and normal lunations) we can delineate those animals, insects etc. that will most likely cause damage.
In the ingress chart above, we can see that the 4th hose (earth, fields, ground) is ruled by Venus, which describes beauty. Admittedly, those snail houses are piece of art. She is with Saturn, the malefic out of sect. Both are linked to voracious Jupiter. Mars is the triplicity ruler of Pisces and hence the dispositor of Venus.
This example here is just to show how even rather innocous snails can fit into a muchg bigger picture, but if you pay attention, you see that every year some insect or animal or plant seems to be more prominent than others.
Same goes for what we commonly call weed. I noticed that often one particular kind of weed grows all around my place, usually every year a different kind of weed, which turns out to be important for me or my family in this season. In some year I find a plant that has properties to cure the lungs, other years it is for detoxification, still other years it is a medicine for prostate or diabetes. Just pay attention, you most probably will need those plants for some reason, either for prevention or cure.
I just wonder how I may need snails. I know they are used in beauty cosmetics, like anti age creams. But, well, I am not ready for THAT! Putting snails on my face? No, thank you. Wrinkles are not that bad, after all….Eating snails is not an option either, since I am a vegetarian. But maybe they want to show me what to eat? This would be the only thing they don’t touch in my garden, which is beets and tomatoes. That I can live with!
Try this out, go for a walk and start to actually SEE how nature interacts with us, the blind humans.
